Herbalife creatine (H24 Creatine+): for training, for women and after 55
HerbalStoreUKShare
3 g a day, every day — and the same dose for everyone. Creatine is one of very few sports supplements with an authorised health claim behind it: it increases physical performance in successive bursts of short-term, high-intensity exercise. After 55, daily creatine can also enhance the effect of resistance training on muscle strength. Neither claim is written for men only.
If you already have a Formula 1 shake every morning, this is the simplest addition there is. H24 Creatine+ is unflavoured, and Herbalife's own directions let you stir it straight into the shake you already make. This page explains who it is actually for, what it does and does not do, and how to take it properly.
What is creatine?
A compound your body makes itself and that you also get from food — mainly meat and fish. It is stored largely in your muscles. As a supplement it is one of the most studied in sport, and it is one of a handful whose effect is written into UK law as an authorised health claim. That matters: it means there is a specific, checked sentence about what it does, and a specific dose that sentence depends on.
What creatine is allowed to claim — and the conditions
| The authorised claim | Who it applies to | The condition |
|---|---|---|
| Creatine increases physical performance in successive bursts of short-term, high-intensity exercise | Adults who train | A daily intake of 3 g of creatine |
| Daily creatine consumption can enhance the effect of resistance training on muscle strength in adults over the age of 55 | Adults over 55 | 3 g a day, combined with resistance training at least three times a week, for several weeks |
| Calcium contributes to normal muscle function | Anyone taking H24 Creatine+ | One serving provides 18 % of the reference intake |
Two things follow. The dose is not negotiable — the claims are built on 3 g a day, which is exactly one serving of H24 Creatine+. And creatine does nothing on its own: both claims describe what it adds to training.
For sport: what "successive bursts" actually means
The claim is about short, hard efforts repeated with rest in between. In practice that covers most of what people do in a gym or on a pitch:
- Weights and resistance training — sets of hard reps with rest between them.
- Sprints, intervals and HIIT classes.
- Stop-start sports — football, tennis, padel, netball, rugby.
Being straight about it: if your training is a long, steady run or ride, that is not what the claim describes. Creatine is about repeated high-intensity bursts, not endurance.
Is creatine for women too?
Yes, and on exactly the same terms. Neither claim is written for men, the dose is the same 3 g, and what decides whether it is worth taking is how you train, not whether you are a man or a woman. If your week includes strength classes, weights, circuits or interval running, the claim covers you exactly as it covers anyone else.
Creatine is not a hormone and not a steroid. It is a compound your body already makes and that you already eat if you eat meat or fish. H24 Creatine+ is also suitable for vegans, which matters more than it sounds: people who do not eat meat or fish get little or no creatine from their diet.

After 55: the claim that needs training to work
This is the only authorised claim for muscle strength in older adults, and the wording is precise for a reason. The effect was found when daily creatine was combined with resistance training, and it is the combination that the claim covers:
- 3 g of creatine every day — one serving of H24 Creatine+.
- Resistance training at least three times a week — weights, machines or bands.
- At a moderately heavy load — around 65–75 % of the most you could lift once.
- Kept up for several weeks.
Creatine taken without the training is not what the claim describes. If you have not done resistance training before, or you have a health condition, start by talking to your GP and, ideally, someone qualified to set the sessions up with you.

How to take H24 Creatine+
Herbalife's own directions, plus the one thing they do not print on the front: the scoop is not in the pouch. Two level scoops of the 3 cc Multi-Scoop make one serving.
- One serving a day: 3.8 g — two level 3 cc scoops.
- Mix it into 200 ml of water, or into your daily shake. It is unflavoured, so it disappears into a Formula 1 shake.
- Every day, rest days included. The claims are based on daily intake, not on training days only.
- One pouch is 60 servings — two months at one a day.
| Per serving (3.8 g) | Amount | % RI |
|---|---|---|
| Creatine | 3 g | — |
| Calcium | 146 mg | 18 % |
| Thiamin | 0.18 mg | 16 % |
| Riboflavin | 0.21 mg | 15 % |
| Niacin | 2.4 mg NE | 15 % |
| Vitamin B6 | 0.21 mg | 15 % |
| Vitamin B12 | 0.38 µg | 15 % |
| Pantothenic acid | 0.90 mg | 15 % |
It is also Informed Sport certified: a sample from the batch was tested for substances banned in sport. If you compete in anything tested, that is the reason to choose a certified product.
Worth being clear about. The only claims on this page are the authorised ones: creatine increases physical performance in successive bursts of short-term, high-intensity exercise (with 3 g a day); daily creatine can enhance the effect of resistance training on muscle strength in adults over 55 (with 3 g a day and resistance training at least three times a week); and calcium contributes to normal muscle function. Frequently asked questions
How much creatine should I take a day?
3 g. That is the daily intake both authorised claims are based on, and it is exactly one 3.8 g serving of H24 Creatine+.
Is the dose different for women?
No. The claims are not sex-specific and the dose is the same 3 g a day. Whether it is worth taking depends on how you train.
Can I mix it into my Formula 1 shake?
Yes. Herbalife's directions are 200 ml of water or your daily shake. It is unflavoured, so it does not change the taste.
Do I need a loading phase?
The directions are one serving a day, and the claims are based on 3 g daily. There is no loading phase in the directions.
Do I take it on rest days?
Yes. The claims refer to daily intake, so take it every day, not only on training days.
I am over 55. Is it enough to take creatine?
No. The claim for adults over 55 covers creatine combined with resistance training at least three times a week, for several weeks. Without the training it is not what the claim describes.
Is H24 Creatine+ vegan?
Yes, it is suitable for vegans. It is made in a facility that also handles soy, milk and eggs, so it may contain traces of them.
How long does a pouch last?
60 servings: two months at one serving a day.
